How to Add Sound Effects in CapCut (Free Meme Sounds, No Watermark)

CapCut has its own sound-effect library, and it is fine — but everyone is using the same forty clips, and the good meme sounds aren't in it. Importing your own takes about twenty seconds once you know where the button is.

Adding a downloaded sound on mobile

1. Download the MP3 to your phone. On iPhone it lands in Files → Downloads; on Android, in Downloads.
2. Open your project in CapCut and tap Audio in the bottom toolbar.
3. Tap Sounds → From device (Android) or Import → Files (iOS).
4. Pick your MP3. It drops onto a new audio track.
5. Drag it along the timeline until it lines up with the moment you want.

If From device shows an empty list, the file is somewhere CapCut can't see. Move it into the Downloads or Music folder and re-open the picker.
